• Animal Rights Activists
  • At 09:48am Sep, 6 2010 : I don't place any lifeforms at any value higher then any other, except those I have some personal stake in. Vegetarianism is at it's heart and arrogant human endeavor. it is essentially saying: 'I am human and therefore above ecology. I for some reason think that life forms more similar to me are holy but I get to decide which life forms are not holy and which are so then I can be above eating a normal part of the diet of my species.' Animal rights activists are just like civil rights activists, there are a bunch of zealots that hurt the cause and make everything worse.

  • At 10:02pm Sep, 5 2010 : I think you don't understand me. I am not proposing anarchy. I was advocating tribal justice. No ONE man is an island to himself, no. I think groups of people can and should be islands to themselves. I realize this isn't exactly workable in our economy, just an idea of what would be better for people if it were diferent

  • Morality Vetis' Spiritual Journey Chapter II
  • At 12:42pm Sep, 5 2010 : if people instinctively know right from wrong then how do you explain cultures that routinely do things we think are 'wrong'? Are they misguided while we are not? Is there something internally flawed about them that they don't feel like certain things are wrong? Or is right and wrong a matter of culture and it is acceptable to say we do not all have the same idea of right and wrong

  • Morality Vetis' Spiritual Journey Chapter II
  • At 12:35pm Sep, 5 2010 : what I meant is that many people look to their faith to settle moral dilemmas. That is to say nothing about what they 'know' is right or wrong, which rather then being innate I think is a part of our culture that resonates with us so often that by the time we are of an age of reason we have been conditioned as to what is culturally justified.

  • Christianity Me, Vetis' Spiritual Journey Chapter I
  • At 08:40am Sep, 5 2010 : indeed. I've actaully met some pastors who will give you a pretty solid argument to the point that it comes down to: they believe the bible is the word of the holy spirit and I don't. Even though I make a good point about how it fits in as a historical human document, they still think so. that's belief for you, the rejection of evidence

  • Christianity Me, Vetis' Spiritual Journey Chapter I
  • At 05:04pm Sep, 4 2010 : I'm not proud of being angry but i was a child then. I was angry to have been so devoted to something that wasn't true I guess. I have let go of my anger long ago. some time after my anger I still thought it a good idea to attack christianity, but I have learned it has it's place and even learned to like some christian teachings. I actually like a lot of them, I just don't care for the hypocrites that preach them and don't follow them. As for what I denied myself I had been instructed by some rather misguided christians in my youth who pretty much convinced me any pleasure was wrong to enjoy from masturbation to watching violent movies. Don't laugh, I was very naive.

  • Ways You Know You Were Young and Naive in the 90s
  • At 10:10am Sep, 3 2010 : some of that. I remember when everyone had a job and everyone could have a job and to get a house you just needed a down payment of a thimble. Those were the 90's. Oh and basic instinct was a shitpile of a movie. If I wanted to see a vagina so much there were faster less time consuming ways to do it.
