Man Arrested at L.A.X. with Suspicious Items in Luggage

Wow he made it from Japan to LA with all this stuff, but what gets me is the newsman reporting the story says the knives, and hatchet are legal to carry. I thought you weren't allowed to carry ANY weapons on your person OR in your luggage.
