On Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, Superintendent Daugherty was hoisted in a crane to top off the 112 foot, 11 and 34 inch LEGO tower, which shattered the previous record for the tallest LEGO Tower ever built by more than 6 feet. Students throughout the Wilmington, Delaware school district built sections of the tower, made up of about 500,000 donated Legos.
