Convicts who escaped from the Sheriffs holding facility were captured by California Highway Patrol. Sheriffs decided to stop CHP from taking these convicts in. I remember watching this live and Sheriffs and CHP actually pulled guns on each other, but it was removed from the late night news report. You can't even find documentation on this online.
