Everything is too darn expensive lately. From rising power bills (thanks, A.I.!) to elevated grocery prices, you can’t leave your house without spending an arm and a leg to do so. Not helping matters is the fact that wages are largely stagnant. You’re charging everyone more for things — what do you mean you can’t pay me more???
As you might expect, basically every part of someone’s life is impacted by this. However, one area you might not have considered is dating.
A recent survey found that 65 percent of American singles believe inflation is hurting their dating life. Some worries include: not being able to afford to go on dates, not wanting to buy things for two people instead of one and being too stressed about money to be able to enjoy dating.
You might not think of this as a big deal, but as immigration slows and the population gets older, we’re going to hit Japan levels of age imbalance pretty quick. Seriously, everyone’s making a big fuss about how young people are banging less these days — make it cheaper to take someone out to dinner, and maybe they’ll hook up more!
