A Plane Just Flew Through Hurricane Irma And Saw This Horrifying Sight
Published 8 years ago

Prospects for the Caribbean and Florida aren't looking so bright after a flood of new data has surface about Irma, a category 5 hurricane currently creeping around in the Atlantic Ocean.
While recording measurements in the eye of the hurricane today, one NOAA plane staff member took the opportunity to capture a quick video for Twitter. Because what better way to let Florida residents why they need to start running than with a clip of an elemental monster approaching, right?
The tweet was as follows:

In case you're wondering the plane in the video is a Lockheed WP-3D Orion, and in the video it's cutting through over 180 mph winds like butter.
