After Months of Delay, the Gold Trump Phone Still Doesn’t Exist

They have also quietly removed claims that the phone was made in America.

Our president loves a good grift. Cryptocurrency, NFTs — you name it, he’s slapped his name on it and sold it to supporters for thousands.

One of the more confusing entrants on this list of grifts was a gold-plated Trump phone. Announced in June by his uncanny valley children, the Trump Phone was supposed to feature an American Flag motif and launch alongside a new wireless service called Trump Mobile. Preorders opened soon after, with customers putting down a $100 deposit on their future $499 device that the creators claimed would be available in August.

Well, now it’s the end of November. Where’s the phone?

The answer is “no one knows.” As noted by NBC News, there’s been basically zero update about the phone since it was ordered. The news agency repeatedly called the manufacturer, who failed to answer their questions before finally revealing that the phone would be shipped on November 13th. It wasn’t.

Since then, the phone’s site has been updated to reflect this delay. It’s also been updated to change key details about the phone — for example, if you thought the ‘Made in America’ phone you ordered was going to be made in America, well, they’re no longer promising that will be the case.

If you ordered a Trump phone, you’re going to have to keep waiting. On an unrelated note, I also have a bridge to sell you!
