New Pentagon Press Reporter Was Once a 3.8-Star Cameo Creator

They aren’t sending their best.

A few months ago, dozens of Pentagon press members handed in their access badges and walked off the job after the Pentagon instituted a new set of regulations on how the press is allowed to conduct themselves within the confines of the Pentagon.

According to The Associated Press, some 40-50 reporters from legacy outlets such as Fox News, The New York Times and even the Associated Press, told their reporters to leave instead of signing the new regulations, which, according to Jack Keane, a retired U.S. Army general and Fox News analyst, amounted to “spoon-feeding information to journalists [sic].”

Specifically, the new rules forbid journalists from simply walking the halls of the Pentagon looking for scoops and people to talk to who haven’t otherwise been greenlit or preapproved. You know, the journalism parts of journalism.

Well, a new crop of “journalists” has since moved in, and so far, they’ve spent most of their time posting selfies (mostly from the same desk) and bragging that they don’t have bachelor's degrees. Nice!

And one of those “journalists” is Lance Johnston (Lancevideos). Johnston, for the past few days, has bragged that he’s the new face of media, while trashing reporters who refused to sign the Pentagon’s new rules. As this “new face of media,” Johnston boasts 1,300 followers on TikTok (Johnston claims he was banned at 150k for claiming he wouldn’t be intimate with a transwoman, though there is no proof this is the case), 11,000 followers on X, and 43,000 followers on Instagram.

Not exactly the kind of reach a reporter working for the Pentagon, who doesn’t appear to write or report for any third-party outlet, should have; however, the Pentagon clearly doesn’t mind. I assume they prefer it.

Before Johnston became a MAGA “influencer,” he moonlighted as a Cameo creator. According to his stats, he has a 3.8-star rating on 70 total reviews.

So hey, don’t let people tell you you can’t accomplish your dreams, so long as those dreams are carrying water for the Pentagon.
