Berkeley Has Removed All Gendered Language From Their City Code

The town debate about calling them 'womanholes' or 'non-bianary-holes' but thought against it. Just kidding, no they didn't but the fact that they could have says enough.

The city of Berkeley, California passed a new ordinance Tuesday July 16th, which removed any and all gendered pronouns from the city code. So say goodbye to some of your favorite terms like, fireman, salesman, brother, sister and manhole.

And we thought yesterday was supposed to be the most 2019 day of 2019, but the crown was short lived.

The vote for the new ordinance was supposed to take place on March, 12th, but was pushed back to Tuesday night. The ordinance was sponsored by council-members Rigel Robinson, Cheryl Davila, Ben Bartlett and Lori Droste, and "eliminates all gendered pronouns from the city code, replacing "she" and "he" with "they."

Here is a full list of terms that have been changed due to the ordinance.

So effective immediately, there will no longer be manholes or woman-holes in the city of Berkeley but people-holes!
