Brain Surgeon Arrested After Letting Her 12-Year-Old Daughter Drill Into a Patient’s Skull
That’s illegal?

A neurosurgeon in Austria was arrested after allegedly allowing her 12-year-old daughter to drill into a patient’s skull during surgery.
According to The Daily Mail, a man was admitted to the hospital with a traumatic brain injury and required immediate surgery. During the procedure, a neurosurgeon reportedly brought her daughter into the operating room and allowed her to assist in drilling a hole in the man’s skull.
The neurosurgeon then “proudly announced that her daughter had just had her first gynecological hysterectomy,” per the Daily Mail.
Thankfully, everything with the surgery went fine (guess the kid did a fine job!). Still, the patient wasn’t exactly thrilled to learn an actual child had been involved, so police are now investigating the incident.
Both the neurosurgeon and the other doctor present have denied that the child did any actual drilling, claiming she merely had her hands on the equipment while observing. Both the neurosurgeon and doctor involved pleaded not guilty to minor bodily harm.
Surgeons: if you’ve gotta take your kid to work, don’t let them actually perform any surgery. Just stick them in front of the iPad like all the other parents.
