Censorship Conference Canceled After One of Its Speakers Was Censored
How ironic.

A two-day conference on censorship has been canceled after organizers couldn’t “in good conscience deliver the high-quality, meaningful experience that our community expects and deserves,” after Weber State University in Utah tried to censor the event.
The event, which was called the Unity Conference 2025, Redacted: Navigating the Complexities of Censorship, planned talks, panels and a film screening about book banning.
Richard Price, a professor scheduled to speak at the conference, wrote a letter to the university President Brad Mortensen, stating, “Little did I expect that the university would censor the content of the conference to the point at which I could no longer ethically participate.”
Weber State University abruptly canceled a conference dealing with the complexities of censorship, citing a need to comply with Utah's diversity, equity and inclusion law, which prohibits government entities from taking sides on political issues. https://t.co/21EQzlOalE

Price, who is a political scientist, claims he “was told not to talk about politics.”
So while the conference was canceled, the organizers behind it still got their point across.
