Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Allegedly Caused Grindr to Crash in Arizona

According to AZCentral, roughly 100,000 people attended Kirk’s funeral yesterday, which was held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The 10-hour event featured speeches from the President, Vice President, the President’s son, and, of course, Kirk’s widow, Erika.
It also crashed the world’s biggest gay dating app.

According to Down Detector, a website that tracks internet traffic and social media outages, the event was so large that Grindr, the gay hookup app, saw significant outages throughout the day. Per screenshots, Grindr experienced a massive influx of traffic at about 7 p.m. on September 21st, jumping from a baseline of two outage reports per hour to roughly 168 such reports per hour, which is an increase of about 8,400 percent.
