Companies Are Complaining That Young People Aren’t Spending Enough Money on Stupid Things
You could always, you know, pay them more.

If your business involves moving money around, you’re probably doing just fine in this economy. However, if your job involves actual work, things aren’t going too well. You more than likely don’t have enough money to pay for the things you actually need, let alone anything fun or frivolous.
This is a problem — not just for you, but for the companies who really, really want you to buy things. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, while corporations are happy with their investments, they’re complaining that today’s young people aren’t buying cheap plastic garbage in the same numbers that they used to.
What’s motivating this? It’s not a desire to be more eco-friendly — it’s literally just the need to spend less money. Around 40% of Gen Z-ers say their household finances are worse than they were a year prior, and as a result, they plan on spending significantly less this holiday season. Some say they’re going to handmake gifts, while others say they’ll be shopping for friends and family at secondhand stores.
Remember: socks for Christmas isn’t actually a bad gift!
