Cracker Barrel Changed the Rules to Peg Solitaire to Make It Easier

Cracker Barrel nerfed Peg Solitaire!

Cracker Barrel’s peg game, commonly known as “Peg Solitaire,” or “Hi-Q,” just got a whole lot easier. Peg Solitaire isn’t widely popular, but if you’ve ever been to a Cracker Barrel, you know how frustrating it can be to beat. And so, the folks behind Cracker Barrel thought changing the rules for Peg Solitaire would help — because, you know, clearly no one cares when they change some long-established part of the brand.

The rules of the original Peg Solitaire, which are famously written on the game itself, read as follows: “Jump one peg over another to an open space and remove the one that was jumped. Keep doing this until only a single peg remains. If you are successful and leave only one peg, you are a genius. Leave two pegs, and you’re pretty smart. Leave three pegs, and you are just plain dumb. But leave four pegs, and sorry, but you are an ‘EQ-NO-RA-MOOOSE.’”

The new rules read: “Leave one only – You’re a genius! Leave two – You’re rocking the chair but not the game. Leave three or more – No reason to be depressed, try again.”

You’re right, Cracker Barrel — I am depressed — but not because I couldn’t beat some stupid game.
