If you haven’t been following the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial, the rapper/entrepreneur was accused of some pretty egregious things — including, but not limited to, abusing women and setting Kid Cudi’s car on fire. Despite this, Diddy escaped the worst of the accusations, only being found guilty on two lesser charges.

However, just because he wasn’t found guilty on the worst charges possible, that doesn’t mean he’s sure to be a free man. He’s currently being sentenced for his crimes, and while his lawyers are arguing he should get just 14 months in prison, prosecutors are seeking over 11 years.

So, given all this, what does Diddy have to say for himself? Well, that he’s sorry, and that the years of crimes he committed were just because he “lost [his] way.” We’ve all been there — you lose your way for a little bit, then soon, you have an international criminal enterprise on your hands!

In a statement, Combs explained that his crime was due to the fact that he simply “got lost in my journey” and that, at the end of the day, “my downfall was rooted in my selfishness.”

He should be sentenced later today, so we’ll see if the judge buys it!
