Modern problems require modern solutions.

According to ABC News, a care package containing weed, crab legs, steak and Old Bay seasoning was airdropped into a South Carolina jail this week using a drone. A guard intercepted the package before it reached its destination, but the attempt has raised serious security concerns for the facility.

Smuggling contraband into jails isn’t new, but trying to sneak an entire surf-and-turf meal kit is rare, especially smuggling said boil into a jail using a drone. Prison officials have not made an arrest in connection with the failed delivery; however, one spokesperson for the jail said the intended recipients of the meal are surely “crabby.”

In South Carolina, it’s illegal to even fly a drone near a prison at all, and if caught, carries a sentence of 30 days. Actually dropping contraband into a prison is a felony punishable by up to 10 years.

So if your boys are asking for a little surf and turf behind bars this Christmas, it’s safer to be a Grinch.
