No, That Fancy Frenchman Isn’t the Lead Detective on the Louvre Robbery
Would be cool if he were, though.

A picture of a sharply dressed Frenchman has gone viral, with people online joking that he’s the lead investigator on the recent Louvre robbery. However, I am sad to report that the man in question isn’t a real-life Jacques Clouseau — he’s just some random passerby who was photographed by an Associated Press photographer.
I know, bummer.

The Louvre, which reopened yesterday after the infamous robbery that made global headlines for being both hilarious and oddly impressive, says investigators are pursuing leads after DNA was recovered from a helmet and glove left at the scene of the crime.
Still, wouldn’t it be funnier if the fancy Frenchman turned out to be one of the robbers instead? Criminals often revisit the scene of their crimes.
Just a thought.
