Japan loves its smart toilets — and for good reason. Anyone who’s ever had the pleasure of using one will tell you the beauty that comes with having a spa-like experience designed for your behind. Heated seats, a warm water sprayer, *and* puffs of air to dry your booty off? Sign me up!
Unfortunately, anything with this much technology is also prone to glitching out. Visitors to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport over the weekend learned this the hard way after a glitch in the smart toilet system left 70% of the airport’s toilets unable to flush.
Thankfully, the airport soon caught onto what was happening and remedied the issue. That said, this serves as a warning to anyone considering making their home “smart” — make sure there’s a manual override!
