Aspen, Colorado, is launching a construction project to ensure that Glory Hole Park is safe and accessible to all.

Glory Hole Park was built 50 years ago, long before parks were designed with disabled or elderly people in mind, and so, as Steve Barr, Aspen’s parks operations manager, explained, “We’ve been trying to get into that park for a number of years and do a bigger re-do, while still keeping the character of it.”

The city rightfully believes that public parks should be there for the use of all members of the community, and their plan to rebuild the park’s entrance will ensure that people of all ages and abilities will be able to enjoy their town’s glory hole, um, park for years to come.
