During a recent filming of Guy Fieri’s show Flavor Town Food Fight (I don’t know what it is, either), Fieri fell and landed on his leg. While this wouldn’t normally be a big deal, Fieri says that the specifics of the fall meant that his leg was struck at a crucial point — one that caused his leg to “explode.”

“You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle and it exploded,” Fieri told Fox News.

Thankfully, Fieri was able to receive emergency surgery. While he can’t walk on the leg for eight weeks, he says he’s still able to work — though his “quarterbacking” for this season of the show is going to happen from a seated position in a wheelchair.
