Jared Leto's 'Tron: Ares' Was a Bigger Flop Than 'Morbius'
Why do they keep casting this guy?

Have you seen the new Tron movie? Do you know *anyone* who’s seen the new Tron movie?
The answer to both those questions is likely “no.” While the 2010 reboot Tron managed some success, much of that was carried by the initial wave of nostalgia and the Daft Punk-powered soundtrack. But now, 15 years later, it seems that the appetite for Tron has subsided.
Meanwhile, Jared Leto has gone from being a relatively well-respected actor to a walking meme. So, Hollywood — in their infinite wisdom — decided to merge the two together with Tron: Ares.
It was a miserable failure, but it’s still pretty impressive just how much it failed.
For context, the hilariously-bad Morbius, which was based on an I.P. no one cared about, earned $17.3 million on its first day. Tron: Ares debuted to a pathetic opening day of $14.3 million. I know that sounds like a lot of money, but keep in mind that this stinker cost $180 million to produce!
So, Tron: Ares probably killed the Tron franchise. Any chance we can get Jared Leto on the next season of Emily in Paris to finally put that in the grave, too?
