Over 50 million pounds of Jimmy Dean products have been recalled as they may contain pieces of wood. The products recalled include Jimmy Dean’s frozen corn dogs and breakfast sausages. The voluntary recall was issued on September 27th and in a statement, Tyson Foods said the recall was issued “out of an abundance of caution.”
However, according to USA Today, five people have reported being injured by “wood shards” found in the batter of Jimmy Dean’s Pancakes & Sausages corndogs. The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service warned consumers that all Jimmy Dean products purchased between March 17th and September 26th should “not [be] consumed.”
