Gym Influencer Joey Swoll Quits Social Media After Receiving Mild Criticism
A man who made a name for himself by calling people out online apparently doesn’t like it when the shoe is on the other foot.

Joey Swoll, the meathead with a heart of gold who has gone viral countless times for his takes on gym culture, has decided to take a step back from social media after his memorial post for Hulk Hogan found him in hot water.
Swoll wrote maybe the most pathetic goodbye post of all-time yesterday, lamenting that all the “good” he’s done has been for “nothing” after he received some mild criticism for celebrating the life of Hogan. In Swoll’s post, he opined, “You either die a hero, or live long enough to be the villain.”
All the good I've done, all the people I've helped, all for nothing. I truly hope all the people I've inspired do great things in their life and pay it forward to help others and carry on my message. But no matter how much good you do, people just wait for a reason to hate you…

For a guy who’s made a name for being tough — both with his arms and with his mouth — I expected him to stick to his guns and to tell the critics to “hit the gym.” But nope, he folded like a shirt and ran for the hills instead.
