A job is a job.

John Williams, the most famous composer alive today and the five-time Oscar winner, admits in a new biography that composing music for some of the most iconic movies in film history to him is just a job.

According to The Guardian, Williams’ biographer, Tim Greiving, was shocked to learn that Williams considered his life of making music for films like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws and Schindler’s List as “just a job to do.” But the quote that shocked Greiving the most was that Williams didn’t actually like film music at all, saying, “I never liked film music very much.”

When you think about it, though, it’s not that crazy. We all have to work, and sometimes the work we choose chooses us instead. Take Nikola Jokic, for example, who is without a doubt the best basketball player in the world and who showed more passion when his horse won a race last month than he did when he won two MVPs and the NBA championship.

Still, it's pretty crazy that Williams doesn’t like making music for movies. Can you imagine how hard the soundtrack for Star Wars would have slapped if he did enjoy his job?
