People are calling it “the most airtight case” of all time.

Kash Patel, the wide-eyed director of the FBI, has been criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for his handling of the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Last Wednesday, Patel wrongfully tweeted while out to dinner in NYC that the FBI “got him” before then retracting his tweet and issuing a correction that the suspect in custody had been cleared and released. And yesterday, Fox News reported that the White House was upset with Patel’s handling of the investigation, claiming that “knives were out” for Patel and that Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche “have no confidence in Kash,” according to MSNBC, despite the President publicly praising him.
In an effort to tamp down on the bad press, Patel stopped by Fox & Friends this morning to offer an update on the Bureau’s ongoing investigation. During his visit, he claimed the FBI had retrieved DNA that linked Robinson to both a screwdriver found on the roof of Utah Valley University and a towel found wrapped around a bolt-action rifle “dumped” in a nearby wooded area.
Patel also referenced a “note” that the FBI believes Robinson wrote, claiming to show his motive. However, Patel admitted the FBI never saw the note and that it’s since been destroyed.
Patel’s full statement to Fox & Friends regarding the note reads as follows: “The written note, we believe, did exist. And we have evidence to show what was in that note. And that note said, ‘I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.’ That note was written before the shooting. And we now have evidence that it existed. Even though the note has been destroyed, we have found forensic evidence of what the note said, thanks to our aggressive interview posture at the FBI.”
If you’re confused, don’t feel bad, so is Kash Patel.
