Another reason to dislike LED lights.

LED lights suck, and it’s one thing most people can agree on in a world where no one is agreeable. They give people headaches. They look terrible, and they cause worse light pollution than their incandescent counterparts. Also, LED lights just aren’t a vibe.

Well, there are new reasons to despise LED lights, as they, according to a paper published in Science, have caused more women’s menstrual cycles to desync from the moon. While the study finds that women’s menstrual cycles still sync with the moon’s phases, the phenomenon is most evident when the moon’s gravity is at its strongest. The study also found that strong lights at night shortened women’s cycles and weakened their connection with the moon’s phases.

Smartphones may also play a role in the desynchronization of women’s cycles from the moon’s phases.
