LimeWire Just Bought the Fyre Festival
And eBaum’s World is reporting on it.

This is not the collaboration anyone was anticipating in 2025, but here we are. LimeWire, the file-sharing service that famously infected a generation of computers with viruses, has announced that it is purchasing Fyre Festival, the festival that left hundreds of Millennials stranded on an island in the Caribbean.
LimeWire, which is now a platform for NFTs (yeah, really), knows how the news sounds and winked about it in a press release announcing the acquisition titled, "LimeWire Acquires Fyre Festival Brand — What Could Possibly Go Wrong?"

LimeWire CEO Julian Zehetmayr said little about what their plans are for the Fyre Festival brand; however, he did say, “We’re not bringing the festival back — we’re bringing the brand and the meme back to life. This time with real experiences, and without the cheese sandwiches.”
While the decision might seem odd on the surface, for a once-famous brand like LimeWire, getting in on a technology that is certifiably dead (NFTs), it makes sense to partner with a festival that no one has cared about since 2017 (Fyre Festival).
