Mexico is taking a bold step in the candy industry with the release of its new $1 chocolate bar. The 100% Mexican-made product was introduced by Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, today and will come in “bar, powder, and table form.”
The chocolate bar will be composed of “50% cocoa, cane sugar, cocoa butter, powdered milk, and [sic] vanilla,” and will lack artificial flavorings and colors.

It’s good to know countries are bringing back manufacturing while creating products that are high in demand while still being “healthy.”
Hopefully, this doesn’t start a candy trade war with the United States.
