People Are Really Getting Sick of Chipotle Gaslighting Them About Burrito Sizes
Knock it off, seriously.

Last year, Chipotle’s CEO made a statement that “portions have not gotten smaller.” This came as a shock to literally anyone who ordered from the chain in the past year because, c’mon — they’ve *clearly* gotten smaller!
In response to the backlash, the CEO promised that any stores skimping on portion sizes would be retrained. So, a year on from that statement, how are things going?
The answer is “poorly.” Recently, several viral posts have noted declining sizes at Chipotle, especially for online orders. One post on X showed two burritos side-by-side, with one significantly larger than the other.
“I ordered these burritos 15 minutes apart from the same store today. The one on the left I ordered in person and it’s twice the size as the one on the right (online order),” wrote the user. “My online order is always significantly smaller. Every time. Stop ripping us off.”

This reignited the Chipotle backlash, with people from across the country saying that Chipotle needs to STFU about how its burrito sizes haven’t changed.
“This mini burrito had me so mad that I went back inside after looking at it asked them how they had the audacity to give me this for $11,” wrote one user, attaching a photo of a tiny burrito. “I ordered an online burrito bowl. Thing came 3/4 empty. Gave them a second chance a few weeks later. Same thing,” added another.
So, if Chipotle is reading this: we remember when burritos used to be the size of an infant. Please, either go back to that, or stop charging us $12 for a burrito.
