Apparently, French police responded to a ”fake wedding” between a nine-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man on Saturday after parkgoers noticed her wearing a wedding dress and struggling to walk through the park in high heels.

According to CTV News, the fake wedding, which featured a nine-year-old Ukrainian girl, was in part, set up by the child’s mother who said she wanted her daughter to feel like a “princess” for the day. The staged event also featured hundreds of paid extras.

He has been arrested and charged, French prosecutors have said.

In total, four people were arrested over the stunt, two of whom have since been released: a 41-year-old Ukrainian woman and a 55-year-old Latvian man. The 22-year-old who played the groom and a 24-year-old Latvian woman still remain in custody.
