The FDA Is Again Warning That Shrimp May Be Contaminated With Radioactive Material
Shrimp is off the menu, boys.

Aquastar Corp. recalled 157,000 pounds of shrimp this past Saturday over concerns it had been contaminated by radioactive material. Back in August, the FDA issued a public safety alert warning that cesium 137, a radioactive isotope, had been detected at several U.S. ports.
However, none of the shrimp tested by the FDA came back positive for the radioactive isotopes, and so, the warning was issued with extreme caution.

According to the FDA, shrimp purchased from food retailers “Bakers, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Foodsco, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Gerbes, Jay C, King Soopers, Kroger, Mariano’s, Metro Market, Pay Less Supermarkets, Pick ‘n Save, Ralph’s, Smith’s and QFC,” between June 12th and September 17th, should be discarded.
While the levels of radioactive material detected are far below dangerous, radioactive waste is never a great thing to have in your diet.
