The Internet was an entirely different beast back in 2001. The days before sites likes YouTube, Facebook and even yours truly even existed. Apart from the look and feel of the web back in that day, having to tell your mom to get off the phone so you could play some flash game or chat with your friends in AOL, from our vantage point today seem like old relics of the past.
Well, like most things, the Internet doesn't really go away, and because of that we are still able to see what people were doing and saying on any given day, as far back as the Wayback Machine will allow us to go. So in honor, or in respect for what today is, the 18th anniversary of 9/11, here is what the Internet looked like all those years ago.
