The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for one million bags of shredded cheese after it was found that they may contain metal shards. The cheese, which was manufactured by the Ohio-based cheese maker, Great Lakes Cheese Co., was on shelves in 30 different states, including Puerto Rico, and was sold at Walmart, Publix and Aldi.
According to CBS, “236,000 cases of low-moisture part-skim mozzarella shredded cheese” were recalled, representing the largest portion of the recall, with “15,490 cases of Italian-style shredded cheese blend” being the second largest recall of the group.
The FDA said more than 1 million bags of shredded cheese sold at major retailers are being recalled because they may contain metal fragments. https://t.co/MsJvbQqVj6
