Someone’s Using A.I. to Pretend to Be Marco Rubio

And they’ve already been in contact with at least five government officials.

According to the Washington Post, A.I. is now making our lives worse in a whole new, fun and exciting way. That’s because several officials in D.C. have been reached out to by a man who sounds very nearly like Marco Rubio — but is actually an A.I. based on his voice and speaking patterns.

Apparently, the imposter was caught in part because he signed up for a Signal account that used an incorrect email for Rubio. That said, it apparently didn’t prevent the person (whoever it was) from reaching out to several prominent figures through both text and Signal.

We don’t know who the imposter is yet, or if anyone divulged any valuable information to them, but for now, all we can say is that this new reality sucks.
