According to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health, “thousands of people” may have been exposed to the measles at Tate McRae’s concert in Phoenix after one attendee was later reported to have the disease.
Maricopa County is advising those in attendance to track their symptoms and seek medical attention if they think they may have been exposed. Measles, which is one of the most highly contagious diseases in the world, has been on the rise in the United States and Canada. The U.S. is currently tracking outbreaks in five states, and if the cases aren’t extinguished before January, the U.S. risks losing its “elimination status,” determined by the World Health Organization.
