A Texas high school teacher has issued an apology for feeding an “ailing kitten” to her classroom’s pet snake. The teacher is said to be “an experienced educator and animal lover,” who was caring for a litter of kittens, when she decided a sick one would make a great breakfast for her pet snake.

It’s unclear if the teacher will face any consequences, however, she has removed all snakes from her classroom.
