Television Exec David Zaslav Says Watching TV Is ‘Terrible’ Now
Might want to look at the reflection when the TV goes off, Dave.

Anyone who’s tried to follow a television show in recent years can tell you what a miserable experience it’s become. If you don’t catch a show live, you’ll have to find it on one of about seventeen different streaming services — then, if that service loses the rights to said show, you’re out of luck!
An unlikely person who agrees with this sentiment is one of the people behind its creation. At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, Discovery CEO David Zaslav recently shared his belief that watching TV these days sucks.
“When people turn on — the consumers put on their TV, it’s a terrible consumer experience. In almost every market in the world, there’s just way too many choices. And you’re googling, ‘Where is it? How do I get from one to the other? How do I get into that platform?’” he argued.
While he’s not wrong, his solution seems… we’ll just say, “self-serving.” In short, he wants his streaming service, HBO Max, to win the streaming wars. He’s also increasing the price.
Feels like you’re making the problem worse, not better, Mr. Zaslav!
