The Emoji Movie Has a 3% Rotten Tomatoes Score, and That's Being Generous

I don't expect a single one of you (even those of you with kids) to have already seen, or have any intention of seeing 2017's Box Office horror show, 'The Emoji Movie.' There's literally NO WAY this was going to be anything but a total shit show, but with such huge names doing the voice work (T.J. Miller, James Corden, Steven Wright, Patrick Stewart and Christina Aguilera) it seems like there was at least potential for this to be passable for a terrible and overlooked Summer kid's movie.
The amount of marketing around this movie (and the repeated personal endorsements from T.J. Miller) however provided a visibility to the movie that Director Tony Leondis is now probably regretting.
I mean look at this garbage:
The clear stars of this mess are the reviewers. Here are a few standouts:
"A viewer leaves The Emoji Movie a colder person, not only angry at the film for being unconscionably bad, but resentful of it for making them feel angry."
"T.J. Miller's ticket to oblivion."
"This movie's "believe in yourself" message is borne out, in a perverse way, by the very fact that it even exists. And yet the whole thing remains nakedly idiotic."
And there is, of course, always the best reaction on Twitter:
Imagine if North Korea drops the bomb while your watching Emoji Movie lmao your last moment alive is watching the fucking emoji movie

Historic. In an unprecedented move, Congress has put a stop to the release of THE EMOJI MOVIE
