The First Draft of the ‘Superman’ Script Allegedly Had a Bunch of Dirty Jokes

Our wholesome hero wasn’t so wholesome in the original draft, it seems.

The new Superman movie is proving to be a smashing success, debuting at $217 million at U.S. and international box offices. However, some watching it began to wonder, “Hey, this is a James Gunn property — where are all the dirty jokes?”


It’s true that Gunn’s other recent works have all been R-rated, and some rumors indicate that this script, too, was filled with spicy material before Gunn pulled the plug.


According to known leaker MyTimeToShineHello, the original draft had “a lot” of R-rated jokes that were cut out of the final film. Why? It’s uncertain, but maybe Gunn decided that America’s favorite superhero didn’t need to know what OnlyFans was.
