Hate how AI has entered every single part of your life? Well, according to the U.S. government, you actually love it — and if you try to pass any legislation claiming you don’t, you’ll be in violation of federal law.

As reported by Axios, numerous states have proposed laws trying to limit AI or its implementation into our lives. In response, the Trump Administration is floating an Executive Order that would make putting any restrictions on AI illegal.

The EO, called “Eliminating State Law Obstruction of National AI Policy,” alleges that any restriction on AI is actually attempting to regulate interstate commerce. As this is the purview of the national government, not the states, this would make all AI laws de facto unconstitutional.

But what if you’re a state that doesn’t like AI and wants to regulate it? Well, Axios says that the EO has provisions that say that, if you try to regulate AI, it will either sue you or take away grant money.

So, if you’re getting sick of AI, no, you’re not. You actually love it.
