Thief Steals 50-Pound Dinosaur, Then Returns It With an Apology Note Reading ‘Please Do Not Press Charges’
Ah, the classic “my bad” maneuver.

A 50-pound fiberglass dinosaur named Claire was stolen from a Los Angeles gas station last week — only to be returned days later with a note reading “I’m sorry for stealing Claire. Please do not press charges! Thank you.”
Why did the thief know the dinosaur was named Claire? Well, she’s the mascot for Sinclair Oil and has become a beloved piece of Los Angeles roadside culture (they’ve been kinda lacking in *real* culture ever since all the jobs went to Vancouver and people stopped listening to Sublime). So when she vanished, locals understandably freaked out. Even Jamie Lee Curtis joined the calls for her to be returned.
Now, Claire is back — but the jury’s still out on whether the apology note will be enough to prevent the perp from being charged.
