Three Years Later, MrBeast’s College Program Still Hasn’t Happened and No One Can Explain Why
What’s going on here?

In November 2022, MrBeast teamed up with East Carolina University to announce a college program that would debut in the next 6 to 12 months. The program was said to help people enter the “creator space,” combining knowledge from across the internet world to offer students a comprehensive education in content creation.
But if you applied to East Carolina University in hopes of going to this program, you’re probably going to reach graduation without ever seeing it. That’s because, as reported by USA Today, the program never materialized — and everyone involved is acting strangely tight-lipped about it.
“We continue to operate within the terms of the agreement that outlines the educational partnership between ECU and MrBeast, LLC,” said the university’s chief communications officer in a statement. The statement didn’t explain how this could possibly be the case, given that nothing has actually happened.
In contrast, a spokesperson for MrBeast simply stated there were “ongoing discussions” about the program — which, again, had already been announced in partnership with the university. He also noted that MrBeast has helped the local economy, which isn’t really relevant to the discussion at hand.
Adding to the confusion, the University seems to be stripping any references to the program from its site. Those who signed up for the “receive more information” emails haven’t gotten an update in years, and a link that was originally set up to provide more information about the program is now dead.
Maybe the whole thing just fell apart — but that doesn’t explain why both parties are being so cagey about it. What gives, Jimmy?
