US Jobless Claims Reach All Time Highs
Well when you put it like that, I think this is actually quite serious.

Here's a fun stat: as of today, unemployment claims have reached an all-time-high, totaling 3.3 million as of today, March 26th, breaking the previous record five times over. So to say shit has 'hit the fan' would be an understatement.
I mean, look at this graph (lol).
Have annotated this chart just to hammer home how extraordinary this is. https://t.co/88GlUMZgd9pic.twitter.com/McbNe1o41d

This is insane. And people have been speculating about the economy going into a recession, but with this job loss, it should probably just go into hibernation.

But wait, there is good news! The government just passed a stimulus bill worth 2 TRILLION dollars, which will bolster unemployment for the next four months and that includes freelance workers, in addition to providing every American earner under 90k a year a one time check for $1,200.
96-0 in the United States Senate. Congratulations AMERICA!

And after the bill passed the house, President Donald Trump celebrated the moment with a tweet 'congratulating' America. We did it, 96-0 with all the odds in the world stacked against us, we pushed on and passed a bill.
Though today I read that Canadians will be getting $2,000 a month for the next four months. Doesn't seem fair does it? But that's the price we pay to live in America.
