It was a brutal week in the desert for the thousands upon thousands of project managers who dropped an obscene amount of cash on a party filled with windstorms, the destruction of an orgy dome, a potential homicide and a surprise birth.

According to the USA Today, a woman named Kayla Thompson from Salt Lake City gave birth to an “unexpected” baby girl on August 27th. She was then transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada by helicopter. Both the mother and daughter are being taken care of at the NICU until they’re well enough to leave.

The father, Kasey Thompson, told the Los Angeles Times that had he known his wife was pregnant, Burning Man is the last place on earth he would have been.

The couple has started a GoFundMe to help cover their expenses as they didn’t save up for having a baby, nor did they budget for taking a helicopter to the hospital.
