As you've probably noticed already, there's a new chat available to you in the bottom right corner of the page, provided you're logged in.

To use it, you simply need to have at least one friend on your buddy list, and click on their user name to open up a new window.

From there you can see that there are also other options like a GIF reply and emoticons. The GIF reply has a filter, where you can type a word that's related to what you want to react with, and then you should get a bunch of gifs to choose from. Very handy if you want to add more spunk to your conversation.

Another great feature, that separates the new instant messenger from the previously used Pepperpeanut IM is the fact that it has F**KING SOUND NOTIFICATIONS. Something Pepperpeanut couldn't seem to be able to implement for many years. Pepperpeanut, you inept dork.

I'm kidding. *hugs*

Anywho, the new chat looks a bit Facebook-esque, which is a huge plus, since it's got, for example the *typing* icon for when someone starts to type so you, for example, know you're not being ignored when you didn't get a reply in a few minutes, but there's an icon indicating that they are probably typing a huge ass paragraph likely caused by a meltdown they are having after your brilliant retort.
