10. Woman Froze Herself In Cryotherapy Machine. This therapy that heals with cold is said to work awesome things for the skin in just 3 minutes, but Chelsea a 24-year-old esthetician from Las Vegas got more than 3 minutes, much more. After locking herself in a cryochamber for 10 hours she was found dead the next morning.

9. Man Died Riding Shopping Cart. Jumping onto a shopping cart and riding it for a minute or two? Isn’t that fun? Not for two Aussies, they were walking home when they found an abandoned shopping cart by the side of the road. They hopped in, one in the cart, and one on the back and proceeded to go flying down a hill at 50 miles an hour until they crashed into a car. One died, and the other was injured.

8. Man Launches Fireworks From His Head. This one happened in the good old state of Maine, and in Maine, just like in other parts of the country, people like fireworks- especially on the 4th of July. But one thing pretty much no one does is get drunk, strap a mortar to your head, and light it. On July 4, 2015, guy named Devon was drunk and began telling his friends about a “stunt” that he thought would be funny to do. His friends kept trying to talk him out of it, but nope, he put a mortar on his head and lit it. He died instantly.

7. Hiker Killed When Lightning Hits Selfie Stick. There was a man hiking in Brecon Beacons, which is a mountain range in Wales, during a storm who was struck and killed by lightning while taking selfies from a selfie stick. I mean what are you doing hiking on a mountain during a lightning storm? Why carry around a long metal thing that acts as a lightning rod so you can take your picture and look good for social media?

6. Death By Umbrella. Umbrellas don’t just keep you dry, they are also a very dangerous weapon, at least in Japan. A drunken Japanese man died after being poked in the eye by the sharp tip of an umbrella. He didn’t die right away, he was first in a coma. The tip of the umbrella somehow went through his eye and into his brain. Apparently the man with the umbrella was a friend and they were having an argument. The friend was originally charged with assault but after the man died, it was changed to accidental injury resulting in death.

5. Two People Trampled By Camel. At a camel farm in Wichita Falls, Texas, an “aggressive camel” took out the farm’s owner as well as a friend, the friend entered the pen, to give the camels fresh water; she was then was attacked, the owner came to help and was also killed while trying to help.

4. Stowaway On Plane Falls To His Death. Sometimes someone does something that is really brave and you respect them for it. Other times people do something really brave and you don’t respect them, because what they did is so incredibly stupid. This is one of those times. A stowaway jumped on the bottom of a British Airways plane that had taken off from Johannesburg, South Africa. He made it 8,000 miles, to London before he fell off and landed on top of a building, needless to say- he died.

3. Man Dies Of Bubonic Plague. In Utah, there have been 4 deaths from the plague this year. The plague was the cause of the infamous “Black Death” that killed more than 50 million people in the 14th century. To put that in perspective, it killed off half of Europe. While it is mostly over with of course, the Center for Disease Control says that around 7 people get it a year, mostly from fleas from animals.

2. Man is Impaled By Swordfish. A fishing boat captain in Hawaii saw a swordfish swimming around harmlessly, minding its own business. So what does he do? He jumps into the water and spears the fish with a harpoon. The fish didn’t like this much so it speared him back, with his 3 foot long bill, piercing his chest. He was brought to the hospital where he died. The lesson here is obvious: if you are chilling in a boat in Hawaii and you see a swordfish swimming around, just take a picture or something, don’t jump in the water and fight it.

1. Death By Selfie. Sometimes we all try and look cool for social media. Sometimes we even pose in ridiculous ways while we are taking selfies to try to impress people. But most of us don’t kill ourselves doing it. Sadly though, some of us do. A 19-year-old from Texas died after accidentally shooting himself in the throat while trying to look all cool taking selfies while holding a gun.
