15 Photos From The Biggest Concert Of All-Time

For the 5 people on Earth who weren't there.

Back on New Year's Eve, 1994, the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil became the site of not only Rod Stewart's largest concert, but the largest concert the world has ever seen. Just check the Guinness Book of World Records, if you don’t believe us!

Back then, Brazil was so thrilled to have huge American acts that it has hosted a slew of the most-attended concerts of all time. That night, a string of Rod Stewart's hits from his then 25-year career, and a pretty epic fireworks display drew an estimated 3.5 million people. We hope they know how good they had it.

The concert was free, too, so those lucky devils really had it made. If you weren’t there, here’s a photographic look back on the thrilled faces in the crowd, the band tearing it up on stage, and some shocking views of what a gathering that size actually looks like.
