There is basically an unlimited supply of products, tools, and items that can make our lives easier or help us accomplish tasks in a much shorter period of time. But sometimes those items have hidden purposes or functions we aren't aware of, or we might not even know what they are used for.
These items are pretty strange, but in reality they have simple explanations.

“What is this thing?” Answer: “I’m pretty sure it’s a pair of spaghetti tongs.”

“What is this wooden item?” Answer: “It’s an easel! It would have had a horizontal shelf piece that could slide up or down the long slit down the middle.”

“A hand-squeezed kitchen tool made of metal.” Answer: “It’s for squeezing citrus.”

“What is this glass object?” Answer: “Oil candle.”

“I found it in a thrift store.” Answer: “It’s a picnic basket with bottle holders.”

“Hand-forged tools in their own custom leather case, a foot long, square with very sharp point” Answer: “These are ornate skewers.”

“This plastic kitchen tool looks like a slicer or juicer but there’s no cutting edge.” Answer: “It holds things while you slice them. Eggs, tomatoes, etc.”

“Spoon + bottle opener from my grandparents’ house” Answer: “It’s for stirring and accessing your refreshments and cocktails. “

“This weird wooden kitchen tool.” Answer: “It is a non-electric mixer.”

“What is this thing? It has 2 holes.” Answer: “It’s a hamburger press.”

“Someone gave my father-in-law this hammer, and he can’t understand what it’s for.” Answer: “It’s a meat tenderizer. You hammer it with that. I have one from my grandma’s kitchen.”

“When found, it was the size of a marble, now it’s the size of a pea, but still a perfect sphere.” Answer: “LOL! It’s a toy for kids — little water-filled marbles that dehydrate into tiny balls.”

“I found a silver spoon in some old moving boxes.” Answer: “It’s a server for any small fish in a sauce or oil — sardines, anchovies, etc.”

“I found this stuck to my clothes after the laundromat and want to know if I should wash my clothes again.” Answer: “LOL! I swear by these things when I go hiking in the cold. That’s a hot toe warmer.”

“I found this in an old house. It’s made out of metal with a hook at the bottom and what looks like a hanger on the top.” Answer: “It’s a clockwork spit turner for a fireplace.”

“I found this on my partner’s grandma’s kitchen shelf.” Answer: “It’s an antique nutcracker.”

“I found this at an antique store.” Answer: “It looks like the front of a log holder for a fireplace.”

“This thing has about 60 twisty screws embedded into it. It has me stumped.” Answer: “It’s for making spun sugar.”
