Look, celebrities are people, but they don’t live lives like you or me. They have servants at their beck and call, and their day-to-day activities are totally alien to the average Joe. Even their phobias are bizarre. While normal people like you or me might be scared of regular stuff like spiders or social interaction, celebrities are scared of the oddest, most specific things.

From revolving doors to “cups full of dust”, these superstars have very peculiar nightmares. Their phobias range from making their lives difficult to being so specific that they must never even come up. Check out this list of celebs who are absolutely petrified by the weirdest things.

The singer-songwriter seems confident but has a very specific fear. She is afraid of “something coming out of the toilet.” I have to agree that that would be very unpleasant. She told a British tabloid, “I have this thing where I think this tunnel must start from somewhere and sometimes I think, 'What if something comes out of the toilet?' "That's been one of my fears. I always make sure I put the light on when I go.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt is terrified of elevators. She prefers to take the stairs, which must not be so nice when you’re up and down skyscrapers in big-time Hollywood meetings all the time.

Kylie Jenner revealed a bizarre phobia on Ellen. I’ll let her speak for herself: “The strangest thing I'm afraid of is, like, dust in a cup. I don't know why. It's like one of my pet peeves is when there's a lot of dust in a cup and it's getting in my system.” How are you running into dust in a cup often enough that it can even be a phobia?

It’s hard to imagine Carmen Electra quaking in her knee-high boots. But there’s at least one thing that scares her, and it’s olives. Look, they’re an acquired taste that not everybody has, but a phobia of olives? I’ve never heard of such a thing.

Christina Ricci is an actress who’s made her fortune on being in creepy and offbeat movies. So it stands to reason that what creeps HER out must be out of the ordinary, and it definitely is: houseplants. She says she hates touching them, but even just seeing them is enough to set her off.
