The Band was a Canadian group who first got noticed as Bob Dylan's backing band when he went electric. After recording their own albums, The Band became known in music circles and die-hard fans as an innovative, creative force. After ten years at the top, they decided to retire with a farewell concert at the Winterland Ballroom. They were joined by a huge host of guests include Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters and many more.
